William Peace University’s Annual Tree Lighting Shines Bright
Free cocoa, cookies, carols, and one seriously photogenic tree.

The holidays officially kick off when William Peace University lights its 32-foot Christmas tree on November 19 from 6:30–8PM on Main Lawn. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and performances by the Oakwood Waits carolers and Broughton High School Marching Band before President Lynn Morton flips the switch at 7PM. Bonus: there’s a free photo station—yes, printed photos included—to prove you were feeling festive.
This isn’t sponsored (we’d tell you if it was). We just believe cocoa tastes better under twinkly lights. (Just so you know: Sponsored content in our newsletter is always marked with “*”).

Tucked behind Raleigh Little Theatre, the Rose Garden feels like stepping into a secret storybook scene. In spring and summer, the blooms go wild, and the air smells like something out of a perfume bottle. Bring a book, a picnic, or just yourself and wander...nobody rushes you here.
