La Fiesta del Pueblo returns September 20, bringing the Triangle’s largest and most diverse celebration of Latin American culture to downtown Raleigh. Along with Banda Maguey, the festival features local musicians and dancers, artisan vendors, visual artists, food vendors, community organizations, educational booths, and activities for the whole family. Come hungry, catch a performance, and leave yourself plenty of time to wander.

September 18 — Friday Night Music and Food at For Garden’s Sake

A garden center might not be the first place you’d think to spend a Friday night, but For Garden’s Sake is opening up its patio for an evening of live music, food, and time outdoors.

On Friday, September 18, from 5 PM to 8 PM, For Friday’s Sake will feature live music from William Nesmith and food from Beef Street and a Pig. The event is free, and there’s room for kids to play while adults settle in on the patio and enjoy the evening.

It’s part of a Friday night series running through October, but this week’s combination of live music and a food truck makes for a particularly simple end-of-week plan: grab something to eat, find a spot outside, and listen to a local musician for a few hours.

Raleigh Hidden Gem:

Amedeo’s is where Raleigh locals go for hearty Italian dishes served with a side of Wolfpack pride. The walls are a shrine to NC State history, and the lasagna tastes like it’s been perfected over decades—because it has. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of place that feels like home the minute you walk in.
