New in Raleigh — A Hidden Tea House Behind a Bookcase

Downtown Raleigh has a new spot for afternoon tea, and finding your way inside is part of the fun.

The Littlest Tea House, from the owners of Littlest Tea Room and Little Native Coffee, is a new academia-themed tea house with a cozy, moody-library aesthetic. It’s an expanded concept with its own location in Raleigh’s Prince Hall District—not inside Little Native Coffee Co.—but the secret bookcase door has made the move.

Afternoon tea includes freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and lemon curd, warm croissants, deconstructed tea sandwiches, desserts, and your choice of tea. There’s also a tucked-away space hidden behind a bookcase, adding a little speakeasy element to the experience.

The intimate tea house was designed with unplugged conversation and attentive service in mind, combining English tea traditions with Southern hospitality.
