September 18 — Celebrate African Food and Culture
Food, music, shopping, and cultural performances come together for the North Carolina African Restaurant Week Festival on September 18 from 12 PM to 7 PM.
The free festival centers on African culture and the local businesses that help share it. Food is a major part of the day, but there’s plenty happening beyond what’s on the plate. A marketplace will feature vendors across food, fashion, wellness, home décor, and other categories, giving visitors a chance to shop from local entrepreneurs.
Music will run throughout the festival, with live performances and DJ sets featuring Afrobeat, Amapiano, R&B, Soca, and more. There will also be live cultural performances during the day.
It’s a chance to discover new food, hear music you might not encounter at the average festival, and spend an afternoon supporting local businesses and celebrating African culture and community.
