Gates open at 6:00 PM with live music, lawn games, inflatables, crafts, food vendors, and plenty of room to spread out before the fireworks light up the sky at 9:30 PM.

June 27 — Free Sliders and Live Music at the Durham Farmers' Market
Farmers markets are already a good place to wander for an hour or two. Add free food and live music, and it becomes even easier to linger.
On June 27 starting at 10:30 AM, the Durham Farmers' Market will host a Grill Out at the Pavilion at Durham Central Park. Local chef Saca Monk, the head chef of the soon-to-open Pearl restaurant in Durham, will be grilling free sliders made with ingredients available at the market.
The food will be served in the grassy area by the pavilion, and live music from the Carolina Cutups will provide the soundtrack for the morning. The event is also designed to spark a little inspiration for July 4th cooking, highlighting the kinds of seasonal ingredients available from market vendors.
Free sliders, live music, and a farmers market on a summer morning is a combination that's hard to overthink.
