The average major kitchen remodel costs about $80,000. You probably don't want to pick the contractor by Googling “remodeler near me.”

Tell us what you're planning and your budget. We'll connect you with up to three reputable Raleigh remodelers who may be a good fit.

Free. Local. No endless contractor hunt.

The third annual Pirates and Mermaids Holiday Market sails into Haven Farm in Knightdale on November 1 from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. Browse nautical treasures, quirky holiday gifts, and handmade creations from 60 local artists and makers. There'll also be mermaid and pirate characters, a treasure hunt, tarot readings, games, goats, and plenty of treats, including sourdough bread, cakes, and charcuterie. October 25 — Share Your Scariest Story at a Halloween Open Mic

Everyone has heard a ghost story that stuck with them. Maybe you've even experienced something strange yourself. This weekend, there's a place to share those stories with an audience.

On Sunday, October 25, from 7 PM to 9 PM, Glass Jug is hosting Spooky Tales and Tasty Ales, a free Halloween-themed open mic dedicated to ghost stories, eerie encounters, and other unsettling tales.

Host Ash will share spooky stories of her own and encourage guests to step up and tell theirs. You can bring a fictional tale you've been working on or recount something mysterious that actually happened to you. And if you'd rather listen, that's perfectly fine, too.

The evening's featured cocktail is a S'mores Martini, with locally brewed Glass Jug beers and other drinks also available for purchase.

No storytelling experience is required — just a willingness to share a scary story or hear a few.
