Remodeling Your Wake County Home?
The average major kitchen remodel costs about $80,000. You probably don't want to pick the contractor by Googling “remodeler near me.”
Tell us what you're planning and your budget. We'll connect you with up to three reputable Raleigh remodelers who may be a good fit.
Free. Local. No endless contractor hunt.

The 9th annual Farmers Fall Festival takes over Downtown Cary Park on September 19 from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. Along with local farmers, the festival brings together food makers, artists, crafters, live musicians, and activities for kids—plus its famous pie-eating contest. The annual celebration also serves as the Cary Farmers Market’s main fundraiser, helping keep its weekly market running throughout the year.
Not sponsored—we just appreciate a festival willing to involve pie. (Just so you know: Sponsored content in our newsletter is always marked with “*”).

September 17 — Bring a Soup, Leave With a Soup
Here’s a community swap with a very simple premise: make some soup, bring individual portions, and trade them for something made by another soup enthusiast.
The Daily Beer Bar is hosting its Monthly Soup Swap on September 17 at 6:30 PM. It’s free to participate, and the definition of “soup” is intentionally loose. A traditional soup or stew certainly counts, but so can broth, bread, scoops of ice cream, or another creative interpretation.
The idea is less about following strict rules and more about sharing something you made while getting to sample what other people brought. Portion yours individually so it’s ready to trade, then see what ends up coming home with you.
For anyone who enjoys cooking—or simply likes the idea of swapping homemade food with neighbors—it’s a delightfully straightforward way to spend an evening.

Benny Capitale’s is that downtown Raleigh spot you stumble into once and never forget—mostly because the slice you ordered is roughly the size of your torso. It’s not fancy, it’s not fussy, but when it’s late and you need something solid, Benny’s delivers. The crust holds up, the cheese is generous, and the vibe is pure no-frills comfort.
