Through October 22 — Celebrating 50 Years of Raleigh's Greenway System

Raleigh's greenways have become a familiar part of the city, but the network of trails and natural spaces we know today took decades of planning, construction, and community effort.

The City of Raleigh Museum is celebrating that history with The Park with a City in It, a special pop-up exhibit marking 50 years of the Capital Area Greenway System.

Visitors can explore how the greenway system began, the people and planning efforts behind its development, and how the trails have evolved over the past half-century. The exhibit also features historical artifacts that help tell the story of Raleigh's changing relationship with its outdoor spaces.

The exhibit runs through Thursday, October 22, giving visitors a few more days to explore. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday, 1 PM to 4 PM. The museum is closed on Mondays.
