Skip the usual after-work routine on August 18 and wander through Midtown Makers Market at the North Hills Innovation District from 5:00–8:30 PM. The monthly evening market brings together local makers, artisans, and small businesses, with plenty of one-of-a-kind finds to browse while live music plays nearby. It’s an easy excuse to stroll the district, discover a new favorite maker, and support local businesses along the way.

Not sponsored—we just appreciate a well-made Tuesday. (Just so you know: Sponsored content in our newsletter is always marked with “*”).

A New Kind of Newsstand Has Opened Downtown

Somewhere along the way, newsstands mostly disappeared. The Newsagent's is bringing the concept back with a slightly different approach.

Now open downtown, the space combines a coffee shop with shelves stocked with books, vinyl records, collectible magazines, VHS tapes, DVDs, comics, and more. Visitors can browse while sipping locally roasted coffee, which feels increasingly rare in a world where most media exists behind a screen.

What caught our attention is the mix of items all under one roof. Whether you're looking for a new read, a record to take home, or simply enjoy the experience of browsing physical media, it seems like the kind of place where unexpected finds are part of the appeal.

If you're downtown and looking for a coffee stop that's a little different from the usual routine, this seems worth a look.
