Now in its 16th season, the Midtown Beach Music Series is Raleigh’s unofficial weekly block party—just with more saxophones. Every Thursday from 6–9pm at Midtown Park, folks gather for beach music, Motown, and old-school R&B that makes it impossible not to shimmy. This Thursday, on May 29, Jim Quick & Coastline take the stage with their signature swamp soul and coastal flair.
