Remodeling Your Wake County Home?
The average major kitchen remodel costs about $80,000. You probably don't want to pick the contractor by Googling “remodeler near me.”
Tell us what you're planning and your budget. We'll connect you with up to three reputable Raleigh remodelers who may be a good fit.
Free. Local. No endless contractor hunt.

Head to The Willard on October 14 from 8:00–10:00 PM for an evening of stargazing with the Raleigh Astronomy Club. Club members will set up telescopes and be on hand to help you explore the sky and answer your celestial questions. The event is free and open to everyone, and The Willard’s small plates and handcrafted cocktails will be available to order throughout the night.
Not sponsored—we just think cocktails and constellations make a nice pair. (Just so you know: Sponsored content in our newsletter is always marked with “*”).

October 7 & 21 — Free Community Dinners in Chapel Hill
Twice a month, the Church of Reconciliation in Chapel Hill opens its doors for a community meal where everyone is welcome.
The free dinners take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 PM, with two opportunities coming up on October 7 and October 21. The first Wednesday is a potluck dinner, while the third Wednesday switches things up with a guest chef.
There’s no charge for the meal, and you don’t necessarily have to stay for dinner. Both eat-in and takeout options are available, making it easy to participate however you’re most comfortable. Vegan options are available as well.
The idea behind the dinners is refreshingly simple: sharing food and creating a place for people to come together. As the church puts it, “Life’s hard. Community helps.”

Sola Coffee Cafe is this cozy spot in North Raleigh that's been around since 2012. It's family-owned, and you can really feel that personal touch when you walk in. They serve up locally roasted Counter Culture Coffee, and their cardamom latte is something special. Don't even get me started on their mini doughnuts. It's just one of those places where you can relax, chat with friends, and feel at home.
