Remodeling Your Wake County Home?
The average major kitchen remodel costs about $80,000. You probably don't want to pick the contractor by Googling “remodeler near me.”
Tell us what you're planning and your budget. We'll connect you with up to three reputable Raleigh remodelers who may be a good fit.
Free. Local. No endless contractor hunt.

The annual HollyFest returns to Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park on October 31 from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. Alongside local artists, food vendors, and entertainment, this year's festivities celebrate Holly Springs' 150th anniversary with hourly line dancing, a scavenger hunt, and a historical exhibit. The first 1,000 children can pick and decorate a free mini pumpkin, and families can explore fire engines and other town vehicles up close. Admission is free for all ages.
Not sponsored—we just think 150 years deserves a proper party. (Just so you know: Sponsored content in our newsletter is always marked with “*”).

October 23 — Watch Glowing Pumpkins Sail Across Bond Park Lake
Carved pumpkins usually sit on porches, but Cary has a different idea: send them floating across a lake at twilight.
On Friday, October 23, from 5 PM to 7 PM, Bond Park will host its annual Pumpkin Flotilla, a free event featuring illuminated jack-o'-lanterns sailing across the water. The pumpkins will launch around 6:30 PM, creating a floating Halloween display as daylight fades.
Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and boat rentals, which will be available from 4 PM to 6:15 PM.
Want your own pumpkin to join the flotilla? Bring a carved pumpkin to the park on Thursday, October 22, between 4 PM and 6 PM. Floating spots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
And there's a second chance to see the display: The pumpkins will remain on the lake and be relit the following evening, when visitors can view them from the Bond Park Boathouse.
