July 19 — Free Yoga Inside the City of Raleigh Museum
Museums aren't usually the first place people think of for a yoga class, which is part of what makes this one stand out.
On July 19 from 2 PM to 3 PM, the City of Raleigh Museum will host a free Yoga in the Galleries session led by registered yoga teacher Elizabeth Comtois, founder of Embodied Yoga LLC. The class is part of the museum's spring and summer series and invites participants to practice surrounded by the museum's gallery spaces rather than inside a traditional studio.
Attendees should bring their own yoga mat, any props or tools they like to use, and a water bottle. The setting offers a different backdrop than your typical yoga class, combining movement with one of Raleigh's cultural spaces.
It's a nice reminder that sometimes museums can be places to do more than just look at exhibits.
