Remodeling Your Wake County Home?

The average major kitchen remodel costs about $80,000. You probably don't want to pick the contractor by Googling “remodeler near me.”

Tell us what you're planning and your budget. We'll connect you with up to three reputable Raleigh remodelers who may be a good fit.

Free. Local. No endless contractor hunt.

Raleigh City Farm’s Pay-What-You-Can Farmstand returns Wednesday, September 9, from 4:00–7:00 PM at its Blount Street location. The week’s harvest may include tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, okra, squash, herbs, bouquets, and more, with selections available first-come, first-served.

Pay the suggested price, pay less on up to $10 of produce, or chip in extra to help support the farm. Cash, cards, Apple Pay, Venmo, and SNAP are accepted.

Not sponsored—we just like our tomatoes with very few food miles. (Just so you know: Sponsored content in our newsletter is always marked with “*”).

Every Friday — A Raleigh Tradition Since 1968

It’s not every day you come across a group that has been meeting regularly for nearly six decades. The Raleigh International Folk Dancers have been gathering since 1968 to learn and share dances from cultures around the world, and they're still meeting every Friday at Glen Eden Pilot Park.

The group gathers from 6:30 PM to 10 PM, with the earlier part of the evening focused on teaching and easier dances before moving into more intermediate and advanced dances later on. No partner is required, no dance experience is needed, and there’s no charge to attend thanks to Raleigh Parks and Recreation.

You can join in, learn as you go, or simply watch and see what it's all about. In a city that changes quickly, there’s something nice about a community tradition that has quietly continued for generations.

If you've been looking for a different way to spend a Friday evening, this might be a good place to start.

Anchorlight is this quiet little spot on South Bloodworth where local artists work and show their stuff. It’s not flashy, but it’s cool to walk through and see what people are making. They do open studios sometimes, and it feels like you’ve just stumbled into something real.
