Looking for a classy night out that doesn’t involve yelling over a bar crowd? On March 6–7 at 8PM, the North Carolina Symphony performs Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at Meymandi Concert Hall with guest conductor Eduardo Strausser and pianist Claire Huangci. Chopin lets the piano whisper, soar, and occasionally show off a little. The program also includes Rossini’s playful La Cenerentola overture and Mendelssohn’s moody “Scottish” Symphony.
Arrive early for the free Concert Insights talk at 7PM to hear behind-the-scenes stories about the music—it’s like a pre-game show, but for violins.
