Think treasure hunting is just for pirates? The 52nd Annual Raleigh Money Expo proves otherwise. From June 26-28, 2026, the Exposition Center at the NC State Fairgrounds transforms into North Carolina’s premier coin and currency showcase. Doors open at 10:00 AM each day, with rare finds from dealers across the country, educational seminars, exhibits, and even a phenomenal Kid’s Zone.
Whether you’re a serious collector or just curious about that old coin jar sitting in a drawer, this is a fun way to spend a few hours and maybe discover something unexpectedly valuable.

June 19 — A Free Wine Tasting at Taylor's Wine Shop
Wine tastings can sometimes feel intimidating if you don't know the terminology. Fortunately, the basic concept is pretty straightforward: show up, try a few wines, and figure out what you like.
On June 19, Taylor's Wine Shop will host a free wine tasting featuring Emanuele Magnani with Sunrise Distributing. The event takes place from 5:30 PM to 7 PM and offers an easy opportunity to sample wines without committing to a full bottle first.
Events like this also remove some of the guesswork from buying wine. Instead of choosing based on a label or a recommendation, visitors get the chance to taste different selections and compare them side by side. That can be especially helpful when you're looking for something new or trying to expand beyond your usual favorites.
One of the nice things about tastings is that they tend to work equally well for people who know a lot about wine and people who simply enjoy drinking it. Either way, spending an hour trying a few different selections is usually more interesting than staring at a shelf and making a guess.
